Last week John came to our school to teach us how to make polystyrene prints. John is an artist and a fisherman and he goes round different schools teaching kids how to do lots of art. At our school we all did print making. We went to the new art room and had our lessons there. In the top photo Ollie is putting ink on his polystyrene block and in the bottom photo John is showing Rylee what her print looks like with two colours.
It was amazing.
Driving Drama
This group of actors came to Omanu and gave us a show about Freckles the Frog and how he cleaned up their environment. They didn't have any props or dress ups but they were really good. We loved the show.

Our New Topic.
We are learning about water. In these photos we are looking at pictures of water and writing what we see in the pictures. We had to look hard and write a sentence about something nobody else might notice.
She has come to help Mrs Carruthers and she is training to be a real teacher. She helps us do our writing, maths and other stuff. Today she was our teacher for the whole day. Mrs Carruthers and Miss Thompson share the class.
She's nice, and she's a good teacher.
Constable Sarah has come back to see us again.
This time it is because we are learning to keep ourselves safe. We have talked about lots of things like what to do when we need help and who we should ask. We know Constable Sarah would help us and so would our teachers, our parents and our friends.

Did you know that there are lots of shags nesting around the mount?
What makes the Mount so special?
Please write your ideas on our blog to help us with our topic.
There are 23 children in our class and we are all 5 6 or 7 years old. Mrs Carruthers is our teacher. We live in the beautiful Bay of Plenty at Mount Maunganui. Omanu is a lovely long surf beach so many of our class go to Nippers in the summer and we are learning to be surf life savers
